Hip hip hurray for a successful day
So, we did it and it was a huge success. On Saturday 9th July we teamed up with Market on the Green in Beckenham to celebrate our 70th Anniversary. We painted the town orange with our bright stand and raised lots of money for charity - a whopping £500 to be exact. We would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who came along on the day and those involved in making the event such a hit.
First and foremost, we want to say a thank you to the organisers (Copers Cope Residents Association) of Market on the Green for letting us be part of a fun community event. We enjoyed every minute.
A big thank should go to the stars of the day - those four little micro pigs from Kew Little Pigs. They travelled over two hours to make it and spent the day being cuddled by the kids. We hope they managed to get a well-deserved nap on their way home. And talking about pigs, our very own Proctor piggy bank was snapped up by the crowds, we even ran out by the end of the day. If you missed the chance to grab your hands on a Proctor, simply pop into your local branch - they are free!
Thanks also go to our friends at Gambado, Beckenham’s indoor play centre. The team and their tiger mascot entertained guests with their imaginative balloons. The heat did make a few go ‘pop’ but no one seemed to mind. And we had plenty to spare with our Proctors balloons from Fancydressme, so there was plenty to go round.
We should also not forget to say thank you to local restaurants - Sapore Vero, Chapter One and Zi’ Teresa as well as Kew Little Pigs and Gambado for their contributions to the raffle. We managed to raise £500 for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. If you were not around for the prize-giving make sure you keep your phone at hand as we are contacting the winners.
And lastly, thank you to all our friends, family and colleagues who worked very hard to make sure it was day to remember.
