BROMLEY HOMES BRIGHTEN UP THE BOROUGH FOR CHRISTMAS

As we head into the last few weeks of the year and dark nights are arriving ever earlier, it’s the perfect opportunity to talk a walk or drive to see the houses that are lighting up the streets in and around the borough of Bromley. A few residents have decided to go above and beyond the extraordinary, displaying their festive cheer for all to see by decorating their homes with show-stopping decorations.

From twinkling lights, to flashing words of merriment and glowing reindeer, we decided to take a quick tour – in our sleigh, of course – to bring you the loudest and proudest decorated dwellings this year.

Our top three include:

1.     Hayes Lane, Bromley

This house needs little introduction, having lit up the lanes in Bromley for some twenty-five years. A giant inflatable Christmas bear overlooks a front garden dotted with snowmen in scarves, gnomes and flashing presents. As well as featuring seasonal songs and a moving Ferris wheel, the hundreds of lights provide a glittering backdrop to this magnificent display, which raises money for charity every year with donations from visitors.

2.
Upper Elmers Lane, Beckenham

Festooned with sparkling lights, a glowing Santa Claus and magical decorations, this Beckenham house brings a smile to every passer-by with its dazzling display. With rows of fairy lights and an incredible Thomas the Tank Engine, this home is a glowing beacon of festivity and Christmas cheer, wowing children and adults.

3.     Pinewood Close, Shirley

In this cul-de-sac, Christmas lights get competitive as several households drape their dwellings in hundreds of glimmering decorations. Curtains of lights illuminate the street, polar bears prowl on front lawns and several Father Christmas’ pay a visit, spreading festive cheer. And it’s all for a good cause, with funds raised going to local charities.
