BROMLEY‘S BEST BEER GARDEN REVEALED
It has been three weeks since we launched the Battle of Bromley’s Beer Gardens, which required you, the public, to vote in a Twitter survey for your favourite local beer garden.
The weather may have been a bit iffy, but the rain clearly failed to dampen your spirits as you went ‘ale’ out to ‘cask’ your votes. We had entrants from every corner of the Bromley borough, representing an eclectic mix of traditional taverns and present-day pubs. The poll has now officially closed, and after much deli’beer’ation, we can now announce the winner of the hotly contended title.
We are delighted to reveal that the number one beer garden in Bromley can be found at… the
Shortlands Tavern.
Affectionately known as ‘The Tav’ by regulars, the garden is festooned with greenery and flowers, and decorated with quirky vintage furnishings. With plenty of benches for perching with a glass of Pimms (or three), and a perimeter littered twinkling fairylights, it’s easy to see why The Tav has claimed the ‘hop’spot as Bromley’s Best Beer Garden. Congratulations!
Following closely behind in second and third place were
The Alma (Crystal Palace) and
The Woodman (Orpington). And, honourable mentions go out to the other contenders;
The Bridgehouse (Penge),
The Railway (Bromley North),
The Oak (Bromley),
The Crown (Shirley) and
The New Inn (Hayes).
